What you need to know about waterproofing!
The most important part of any bathroom is what you don’t see, and that is the waterproofing membrane under the tiles. With bathroom renovations and newly build homes, an owner must consider what is beneath the tiling.
Waterproofing can only be guaranteed if done by a licensed tiler or waterproofing contractor. Also, waterproofing can only be effective when the area has been prepared properly and the process has met the Australian Building Standards. The procedures done by the installer must come with a certification certificate and that is the consumers’ guarantee. This certificate is what is called a FORM 16 and must be kept by the consumer to record the workmanship and guarantee the works carried out. This is kept to ensure that the work has been done by a licensed Contractor and is guaranteed not to leak.
Craig Thorne Tiling has a registered Contractor who is licensed to waterproof and issue a FORM 16.
